Hi, I’m Mary Quinlan. I’ve loved gardens since I could walk and now I garden for pollinators. Over the years, I’ve grown herbs, vegetables, roses, perennials and native plants. To share my love of gardening and become a better gardener, I became a Master Gardener nine years ago. Later I earned Advanced Master Gardener.
Then I learned about the plight of the pollinators. I started using bee-friendly plants and adding native plants to my garden. Since then, I’ve continued to learn everything I can. Recently, I finished the online courses for Pollinator Champion (through Michigan State University) and Certified Master Rain Gardener (through the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner program).
Now, I garden at my home and in public gardens using native plants and nativars as well as traditional horticultural varieties. When I’m not in the garden, l love seeing natives in nature while walking with our dog, Trip. Inside, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my husband, my two grown daughters, and Harvey the guinea pig.
